We seek to provide the community and corporations with a high quality function centre on the edge of the Barossa Valley, while being a space for local groups and individuals to celebrate and build relationships. Our vision for the Hewett Centre is “Celebrating Community through Being Community and Building Community”.
The Hewett Centre is a purpose built, not-for-profit community and function centre providing a central meeting place for those living in the Hewett area, the Light District Council and beyond.

COMMUNITY EVENTS
The heart of the Hewett Centre is community involvement and this is displayed through an array of activities held at the centre regularly. Throughout the year several Adult Community Education sessions are run in areas such as computing, photography and crafts. These classes are recognised through the Skills For All initiative and assist many people in the community to gain further knowledge and skills. We also offer Health and Wellbeing classes such as Yoga, Meditation and Pilates. Some classes are run weekly whilst others are conducted periodically throughout the year.
It is also the home of the Hewett Community Church of Christ, who holds a weekly church service on Sunday and other programs during the week.
A strong community presence is the result of a growing group of local volunteers who assist in areas including administration, functions and maintenance. The Hewett Centre also provides family activities such as Move and Groove – a music programme run for infants to pre-schoolers which aims to build confidence, relationships and memories. During the school holidays older children are catered for with Performing Arts programmes and Digital Photography sessions, with more sessions being added continually.
We take part in community fundraising events where locals have the opportunity to celebrate the positive influences they can have through these experiences.
